Joy of Minecraft: Unfriendly Shapes @ RJ on the Go

In this course, for beginner Minecraft learners and beyond, we will be putting the round peg into the square hole.

Building circular shapes can feel challenging in a cube-based world, and we are here to help! We will focus on circles, domes and cones, and find ways to integrate them into our existing builds.

Join our teacher, Hannah Jay, for a conical connection, circling back to the basics.

Parenting Series: Talking with Kids About Violence in Video Games @ RJ on the Go
Ever wonder what the psychological and behavioral effects of violence in video games are? Ever feel frustrated, disturbed, or disappointed by what you see on your child’s screen? Feel a little in over your head whenever you try to chat about controllers and consoles? Let’s talk about it! Join Jayme Dale Mallindine, Games Studies Scholar and Director of URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy East, and Rabbi Dan Medwin, parent and Director of Digital Media at CCAR, as we explore together what violence in video games and Judaism have to say to one another. At the end of this session, you’ll leave with some data and statistics, a greater understanding of gaming culture and terminology, and some conversational tools to help you empower your child to make values-based decisions about the type of gamer they want to be. Just like a video game, this session is heavily interactive, so be prepared to press buttons, make choices, and chat!
